Local LGBTQ Resources in Virginia
Diversity Community Center of Richmond Diversity Richmond envisions a community where LGBTQ+ citizens are treated with respect and dignity, and their unique gifts are championed and celebrated, thereby strengthening our community.
James River Transgender Society Support group in Richmond open to anyone who is gender variant. Also offers information about Virginia therapists and counselors.
LBGT Center of Hampton Roads LGBT Community Center in the Virginia Beach area. Offers support services, counseling, 12 step groups and other services.
Lynchburg Community Center “Empower, educate, support, and advocate for LGBTQ+ individuals and groups in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas.”
Nationz Foundation – Located in located in Richmond, Virginia. Nationz are assisting the Greater Richmond Area L.G.B.T.Q. and Transgender people to access testing, linkage to care and holistic services.
Roanoke Diversity Center Community center with a variety of activities from support groups to meditation instruction to open mic nights.
Shenandoah Valley Gay and Lesbian Association The purpose of the Shenandoah Valley Gay and Lesbian Association is to create a safe, affirming, and fun environment where members are empowered to reach their full human potential.
Shenandoah LGBTQ Center The Shenandoah LGBTQ Center is a supportive network where LGBTQ people of all ages in the Shenandoah Valley and Greater Appalachia can thrive as equal, healthy, supported members of our society.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Helpline 1-888-340-4528 Provides telephone, online, chat and email support as well as factual information and local resources.
Human Rights Coalition National civil rights organization with a webpage specific to LGBT policy in Virginia.
LGBT Helpline and Peer Listening Line 1-800-399-PEER Help, information, referrals, and support for a range of issues. Talk to our trained volunteers about safer sex, coming out, where to find gay-friendly establishments, HIV and AIDS, depression, suicide, and anti-gay/lesbian harassment and violence.
PFLAG Parents and friends of lesbians and gays. National group with local meetings. Uniting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) with families, friends, and allies, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality and full societal affirmation of LGBTQ people through its threefold mission of support, education, and advocacy.
TGEA Transgender education association. Offers support groups. Their primary mission is to help those who identify within the transgender spectrum.
